John P. Rutkowski
Mr. Rutkowski has been practicing law for the past eleven years. Prior to practicing in the area of criminal defense Mr. Rutkowski spent twelve years as a deputy sheriff. Mr. Rutkowski was assigned to the patrol division where he spent two years as a member of the DUI squad. As a deputy sheriff Mr. Rutkowski received training in the Scandalized Field Sobriety Test and the Intoxilyzer 5000.
As a deputy sheriff Mr. Rutkowski made several hundred arrests for DUI and testified on behalf of the State on many occasions. Mr. Rutkowski’s experience is enhanced by his experience as a prosecutor. As a prosecutor Mr. Rutkowski tried several DUI cases.
As a deputy sheriff Mr. Rutkowski was a Field Training Officer, Corporal, and Detective before leaving law enforcement to pursue a career as an attorney. After graduating law school Mr. Rutkowski prosecuted Traffic, Misdemeanors and felonies for two years.
Mr. Rutkowski is a member of the Georgia and Florida Bars, admitted to practice in all State and Appellant Courts. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Northern District of Georgia, the United States District Court, Middle District of Georgia and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Along with his careers in law enforcement and law, Mr. Rutkowski spent fifteen years in the United States Army Reserve as an Infantry Officer.
